NatureWorkshop currently has two dedicated research projects: impact research for public press and a pilot Forest School in a Cloud Forest.

Nature writing: healing the mind, body, and soul

Abstract Bark.jpeg

We are currently working on two research and writing projects: 1) the historical, cultural, and institutional forces that have separated humans from the benefits of regular contact with the natural world, how this has caused widespread dysfunction at various levels of existence, and why we must prioritize protection, stewardship, and collaboration with nature, and 2) an exploration of messages found in nature, how the natural world provides comfort, guidance, and insight through an eco- therapeutic dialogue with the environment. These will be the focus of future presentations, workshops, and retreats.

Forest School: Pilot study

Child looking down.JPG

We are exploring a pilot study for a Forest School to serve those who would like an alternative to classes held indoors, something increasingly of interest to parents and teachers alike in the age of Covid. Forest School offers the opportunity to create a tranquil experience while learning about the self, others, and the natural environment. Studies have shown the students benefit immensely while creating tomorrow’s stewards of the natural world. The location of a protected Cloud Forest in Latin America has been selected for the study.
